Venkatesh-C-RDot Com Infoway is an IT company to watch in India. A firm dedicated to producing mobile application and internet marketing solutions and technologies for business. With offices in India, the United States, and Germany, DCI is well-versed in servicing clients from all over the world on their digital marketing needs. Founded in 1999, DCI has seen some huge growth in the last decade. In under ten years, the team has grown from a staff of nine to over three hundred employees.

Leading the team to these landmark achievements is entrepreneur and web-enthusiast Venkatesh C.R.. A graduate of Anna University in Chennai, India, Venkatesh C.R. started his journey in the field in the late 1990’s, a time when tech giants like Google and Apple were just beginning to take shape. Venkatesh C.R. founded DCI in 1999 and has been an instrumental figure in the company’s prosperity over thhighe last fifteen years. Not only has the CEO pushed DCI to success, but also he was a crucial player in bringing Internet access to Madurai and is the President of the Internet Users Community of India, Madurai Chapter. A talented entrepreneur and savvy businessman, he has traveled the world extensively, working with many overseas clients.

In your opinion, what ingredients are key to create a successful digital campaign?

Relevant, but engaging content, quality backlinks, well-structured keywords, and engagement-oriented social media strategy.

What projects have presented the hardest challenge for you and your team?

There have been a number of projects that have posed varying degrees of challenges to our team. Our approach towards each of these is highly dependent on the specific needs of each client, and finding a unique solution to every client’s requirement is always a challenge.

There’s also the aspect where it’s necessary to make our clients know the expectations of a digital campaign. When a client comes to us with the aim to increase traffic or boost their sales, they can often get impatient with the time it can take to start seeing the results. So, we also have to strive to cut that balance between giving them what they want and setting up a feasible campaign with realistic expectations.

What is a campaign you worked on that was especially successful and why?

One of the biggest successes we’ve had was the SEO and PPC campaigns we did for a travel agency which conducts both inbound and outbound tours. With a strategy that employed content marketing with the right of mix of SEO optimization, we managed to amass quality natural links and brand citations for our clients. When it came to PPC, we had excellent results in terms of number of conversions right from the first day of the campaign.

A combo of excellent content marketing strategies, good organic reach, effective ad placements for both search and display ads, we were able to boost the agency’s exposure.

How did you become interested in digital media and marketing? At a young age or at the university level?

I was never a blogger. But I was involved more in FB more than Twitter. I have been interested in marketing from the time of university.

What does the word creativity mean to you?

Creativity to me is allowing your mind the freedom of pursuing an idea, and then actually putting in the effort to see that idea come to fruition.

Are there online publications, professionals, or industry leaders you respect?

MS Dhoni and Steve Jobs are two heroes that I admire.

What do you like doing in your free time?

Gaming and watching movies.

Which countries excite you most in terms of digital creativity?

US, Singapore, Philippines, and Vietnam.

Where do you see the app industry going in 5 or 10 years?

The mobile app is already evolving beyond the mobile phone, especially with the advent of the “Internet of Things”. Whether it’s the successful integration of wearable technology or the Google car, definite advances are being made towards a future that extends “smart” capability beyond our phones and tablets. So, it will be interesting to see how developers adapt themselves towards innovations that can turn just about any aspect of our daily living into an integrated “smart” experience.

What is a digital trend that is here to stay, at least for the relative time being?

Content Marketing. No matter what the landscape of the industry looks like, in order for a brand to survive they will always need to find creative ways to engage their audience with relevant and compelling content.

What advice do you often give to people who are starting to work in 
your same field?

Know your audience. Always stay on top of what drives them, and build your business on a firm basis of trust and engagement with your customer. There will be ups and downs during your journey, but perseverance is always key.
