More than 10,000 tech professionals joined online from June 7-11 the Women in Tech World Series Online Festival, the unmissable virtual event for women in tech. The week-long festival offered an immersive and, educational experience for like-minded women to access proven strategies and tools to support their career goals.

The festival, fully online, offered the opportunity to hearing from industry leaders about the barriers and challenges faced by women in tech and how these obstacles can be overcome. Participants could network with the women at the top of their game from enterprises and tech start-ups, while gaining insights from entrepreneurs. 

High-level speakers shared their ideas throughout the week. Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, chief digital officer at IKEA Barbara Martin Coppola, chief data scientists at IBM Serena Belessi and global chief information officer at JP Morgan Lori Beer were only some of the distinguished speakers throughout the week.

The event included a set of tracks on different topics. The “power skills” track focused on the positive attributes that allow women to succeed and how you can use these attributes to benefit your career, while the “equality and equity” section explored why the two concepts must feed into all corners of business practices. 

Tech talks offered invaluable access to in-depth explorations of the emerging tech principles that will transition the industry into a new era of digitalisation. Meanwhile, interactive workshops and expert-led masterclasses gave participants the opportunity to interact with each other, share ideas and learn new skills.

The event also included new features for this year. Participants could hear real stories from female founders about how they overcame challenges and learn how you can turn a career setback into a valuable professional life-lesson. Plus, digital campfire sessions will provide a safe space for critical discussions.
