Artificial intelligence takes center role at CES 2025

Every January, Las Vegas becomes the global epicenter of technology with the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), one of the largest technology-focused trade conferences in the world. This year, CES brought together more than 4300 exhibitors and the participation of over 300 Fortune 500 companies.

Artificial intelligence (AI) took a center stage at CES. From personal tech and health care to climate solutions, AI was incorporated into multiple gadgets on display at the event. Consumer Technology Association (CTA) head Gary Shapiro says AI will become more personalized and help to “make lives better”.

“The chip companies are talking about what you can do with AI. We’ll see the companies themselves, the PC companies, also focusing on personalization, new products that will really give a push for the PC marketplace and laptop marketplace,” Shapiro said. “And then, of course, there’s AI being used in mobility.”

Many of the products presented at CES were concepts — high-tech ideas that have been brought to life but are still works in progress. However, there were also plenty of devices available for immediate or near-future purchase.

The US robotics company Roborock presented what it claims to be the “world’s first” vacuum cleaner with a robotic arm. The machine uses AI to identify and put away small objects. Meanwhile, a robotic dog named Jennie can give people with dementia comfort, responding to voice commands and featuring touch sensors.

The home entertainment sector also made a notable impact at CES 2025 with the increasing integration of AI into smart TVs. Samsung presented its new Neo QLED 8K models with Samsung’s Vision AI, turning TVs into personalized hubs. Google and LG also unveiled new offerings at CES, incorporating Gemini AI into TVs.

A number of top automakers were also at CES, unveiling everything from infotainment system updates to brand-new EVs. Hyundai showed the world’s first full-windshield holographic display, while BMW presented its Panoramic iDrive display. Honda showed two prototype 0 Series electric vehicles.

Overall, CES 2025 offered a glimpse into the future of tech, with advancements spanning AI, gaming, smart devices, and mobility, with a focus on personalization and sustainability. We’ll likely see similar trends in other major events throughout 2025 from Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.
