blanct Wins Prestigious International Competition, SG Mark 2015

blanct, the Interactive and Branding Agency arm of VMW Group, has won multiple awards under the prestigious international competition “Singapore Good Design Mark” (SG Mark). Organised by local association Design Business Chamber Singapore, the award is given to innovative and exceptional designs from a variety of mediums and industries, spurring the imagination and enhancing day-to-day lives through customised interaction and visual perception.
Highline Residences, Singapore – Multi-Touch Interactive Media Wall Feature
The first winning work of art is the media interface installation at Keppel Land’s project, Highline
Residences. Submitted to SG Mark under the category Social, Communication, blanct conceptualised and led in the creation and execution of the interactive campaign as well as hardware setup and management. Showcased through a customised 32-point multi-touch interactive media wall made up of three 75-inch Full HD screens and displayed at the showroom of Highline Residences, blanct developed this intuitive interface design and content programming to connote and simulate the lifestyle at Tiong Bahru. The thematic delivery of contents was also created to suit a multi-generational audience, without the need of a guided presentation. It includes interactive transitions, navigational mappings and animations, customised icons and graphic effects, maps, integration with real-time ‘live’ feed of the Instagram accounts of selected boutiques and cafes, 2D and 3D visuals as well as mood videos.
Catered for cross-platform compatibility, this interface has also been adapted for iOS and Android
applications to enhance convenience and support for sales personnel.
CapitaGreen, Singapore – Interactive Media, Projection Media, iPad controller for
The second winning artwork, submitted to SG Mark under the Industry, Communication category,
is the multimedia display of CapitaGreen, a project jointly developed by CapitaLand, CapitaCommercial Trust and Mitsubishi Estate Asia.
Taking the lead in the overall creative direction and marketing strategy for the multimedia display,
blanct produced two highly interactive macro and micro interfaces showcased within the experiential show suite. The highly comprehensive macro multimedia showcase transmits from a presentation touch screen to an expansive projection wall and covers the development’s location and surrounding amenities details with intricate labelling over the 3D architectural animation by sister entity VisualMediaWorks.
One of the highlights of the winning artwork is the ability of the interface to interact seamlessly with the physical 3D model of the development. The selected area of the development on the touch screen syncs with the corresponding area on the 3D model and lights up the latter, delivering an experiential and self-explanatory overview of the esteemed development.
Another important aspect of this interface includes a plans comparison page with parallel offices in
the market, as well as a list of selected industries whereby proposed office layout plans can be called up for a more fruitful and customised presentation. The programming of these tools have also been planned out strategically to complement and unify the experiential aspect of the showsuite and interactive journey alike. With a specially designed iPad lighting automation application, visitors are enabled a seamless atmospheric experience, uninterrupted.
The award ceremony was held on Friday evening, 13 March at Marina Bay Sands. blanct attended the distinguished event with representatives of Keppel Land Limited and CapitaLand Singapore Limited. Creative Director of blanct, Glen Ow received the trophy from President of Design Business Chamber Singapore, Mr. Tai Lee Siang and said, “It’s a huge honour for us and we couldn’t have done it without our clients. They are very pleased with our work and we look forward to more long term partnerships with them.”
