Digital Enterprise Show (DES), the largest event in Europe on digitalization for companies, returned to Madrid on its fifth edition from May 18 to 20, bringing together thousands of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in search of a technological partner. The event was organized with safety measures amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Accelerating Performance was the claim of this year’s edition, with the purpose of promoting the digitalization of SMEs and large corporations and demonstrating the profitability of companies with success stories and applications in any industry. The event brought together once again the entire technological ecosystem.
“DES2021 is committed to the necessary public-private collaboration to promote the modernization and digital transformation of all industries, crucial to achieving business competitiveness in modern society. This path of growth is our reason for being,” Malin Svensson, director of Digital Enterprise Show, said in a statement.
This new edition of DES had the added challenge of redefining the roadmap for the digital transformation of leading sectors of the world economy such as the industrial sector, banking, retail or tourism, key to the economic reactivation after the pandemic.
The event had six vertical forums for different industries such as retail and banking.
Digitization has experienced a sharp acceleration this year. In fact, according to data from Statista, investment in technology grew worldwide. Specifically, investment in cybersecurity increased by 84%, in automation technologies by 66%, in artificial intelligence by 59% and in 5G by 49%.
All these technologies were widely analyzed at DES2021, including an exhibition area and seven specialized forums for discussion. As every year, DES hosted a series of networking activities such as the European Digital Mindset Awards and the Innovation Hub for the most disruptive technology startups.
“The growth we experience each year in the number of attendees is undoubtedly the best example of the good health that Digital Enterprise Show has among managers who are making the decision to digitize their business processes and management areas,” Lluis Altés, Managing Director of Digital Enterprise Show, said in a statement.
