Digital City Festival explores what makes a leading digital city

Returning as a truly digital experience, the Digital City Festival is an annual event exploring what makes a leading digital city. From April 12 to 23, thousands of professionals gathered online for two weeks of keynotes, panels, the Digital City Awards, cultural events and more.

The annual event was hosted on the Digital City Network online platform – featuring an online exhibition and solutions showcase, live-streamed keynotes, on-demand masterclasses, live Q&As, roundtables, seminars and more. The aim was to unite everyone working across tech, marketing and creativity as one global community.

And of course, it wasn’t all about the work. Those participating in the event could also access several social and cultural events broadcasted online, such as a jazz festival. Plus an array of partner events focusing on tech for good, support for start-ups, mental health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion and more.

During the two weeks, a long list of speakers across disciplines shared their knowledge with those participating in the event. Jan Collins, head of B2B2, Andrea Ebinger, CEO of Hessnatur, Olga Kastelein, European Manager of Digital Marketing Nikon and Natalie Lam, head of digital marketing Phillips were only some of them.

At the same time, experts from marketing agencies around the world offered exciting workshops on a wide array of topics, including: “Digital superiority and artificial intelligence” by James Luke, innovator director at Roke Manor, and “Carving a career in design,” by Adam Bee, head of design at Dept Agency.

The Digital City Awards recognized and rewarded the organizations, teams and individuals who are helping to build a better future through technology. The winners were revealed in a ceremony during the event, including Ben Wolfenden, founder of Wolfenden Agency, named as the digital leader of the year.

Overall, the event left valuable lessons regarding what makes a digital city. Everyone working across tech, marketing, media and e-commerce gathered for two exciting weeks and were able to discuss and learn from each other.

Online or face-to-face, they will meet again next year for another wonderful event.
