Digital City Festival gathers the digital sector from UK and beyond

For five days, the Digital City Festival in Manchester brought together thought-leaders from around the world to address the key challenges facing people, businesses and governments as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic. Featuring Digital City Expo, the Digital City Awards, live music and cultural events, and much more.

The festival in Manchester united the digital sector in one place, with unique opportunities for networking, collaboration and socializing with senior and influential figures across the whole week. It was an unmissable even for all digital professionals at all levels, with a wide range of activities for everyone.

And on the last two days of the festival, the sector congregated at Manchester Central for Digital City Expo, where leading businesses across marketing, tech, ecommerce and more exhibited and made new connections. In the very same place, a wide range of influential figures took the stage to share their expert insights with attendees.

Across its eight stages – the Keynote Theatre, Tech Masterclass Theatre, Marketing Masterclass Theatre, eCommerce Masterclass Theatre, Media Masterclass Theatre, Tech Sector Specialist Theatre, Marketing Sector Specialist Theatre and eCommerce Sector Specialist Theatre – Digital City Expo offered a full program of speakers.

Guest speakers hail from a variety of companies, locations, and specialisms – making Digital City Expo 2022 an unmissable event. They include Gareth Turner of Weetabix, Phil Benson of UKBlackTech, and Dominique Elsey of Hootsuite – whose talk was so popular in the 2020 edition that it was standing room only.

Other inspirational names includde Ian Pattison, EMEA Head of Sustainability Practice at Google; Robin Denton, Head of Local Government and Housing at Microsoft; Cllr Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council; and Victoria Knight, Strategic Campaigns Director at BAE Systems, among many others.

The Career Zone, a new venture for this year’s conference, gave digital and creative businesses the opportunity to identify new talent. Participants could join 3D Online’s Metaverse Showcase & Networking Event and also the first-ever Esports Festival in MediaCity, encompassing ​​roundtables, panel discussions and networking events.
