Front-end and full-stack engineers gather at React in Amsterdam

An annual conference on all things React, gathering thousands of Front-end and Full-stack engineers from around the world, React Summit returned this year in Amsterdam and online. It wasn’t only over 60 talks from industry leaders and rising stars, but also a festival vibe, with walking tours and ferries to get to the venue.

The first day, streamed from the Amsterdam venue, included hybrid networking features and interactive entertainment; and the second day featured numerous free workshops, also streamed. It was a fantastic learning experience, with insights from experts such as Kent Dodds, Rachel Nabors and Tim Neutkens.

Josh Goldberg, author of Learning Typescript, led a session on what’s one of the most popular flavors of JavaScript, teaching how to use the type system to our advantage. Meanwhile, Kunal Dubey focused on how to have end-to-end type systems that help ensure typesafety across the teams, improving collaboration.

There was also a session on how to build and deploy a decentralized application from scratch, delving into its additional features, all while minimizing the complexity typically associated with learning blockchain technology. And a session on how to build your generative AI application, going step by step.

Overall, it was a great opportunity to meet with front-end and full-stack engineers from all around the world and get new skills to bring to the job. Up next, React Summit is moving to the United States. It will take place in New York in November this year, with over 50 speakers sharing their latest insights and expertise.
