For four days, digital artists and companies and the general public came together to exchange ideas, learn and network at the KIKK festival, celebrating the digital and creative cultures in Namur (Belgium). The festival has become an annual not-to-be-missed event, offering the chance to discover new developments.
KIKK festival brought together, inspired and highlighted the most innovative projects through conferences, meetings, exhibitions and demonstrations. This year’s theme, “Bodies of Water”, provided an opportunity to explore the relationship between water and the phenomenon of life at the city-wide digital art exhibition, KIKK in Town.
Digital culture players, graphic artists, designers, artists, researchers and other creatives had plenty of opportunities to get inspired, discover innovative projects and launch collaborations. The program included 40 world-class speakers that shared their backgrounds, projects and thoughts on the latest trends in the sector.
There were workshops and masterclasses to broaden the skills of the participants in a wide range of technologies and techniques, such as coding, AI, machine learning, XR/VR and data. The KIKK Market showcased entrepreneurs, who presented their technological innovations on music tech, ed tech, design and extended reality.

The Creative Village, the heart of the festival, hosted a space dedicated to networking, as well as international pavilions highlighting the creative ecosystems of the most active countries in the digital culture sector. There was also a space for meetings and speed jobbing aimed for talents looking for a collaboration or a job.
KIKK in Town transformed the town into an open-air museum, with a trail of nearly 60 digital art works and installations, some monumental, some interactive. The “Capture #2” exhibition at the Pavilion was one of the highlights, offering a snapshot of Belgian artistic and digital creation, with twenty artists showing their work.
The KIKK festival was the place to be for digital artists, companies and even the general public, with something for everyone. Thousands participated in the many activities offered during the four days, enjoying the masterclasses, workshops, the creative village and the KIKK in Town. Next year’s festival will be something to look for.
