KIKK Festival welcomes creative industry in Belgium

The KIKK Festival returned to Namur, Belgium from 24 to 27 October 2024 for its 13th edition, bringing together artists, speakers, and specialists in digital and creative cultures from around the world. The event offered an in-depth exploration of the interactions between art, science, and technology around the theme ‘True/False’.

More than 25,000 visitors participated and discovered about sixty artworks and installations, children’s workshops, and more than 45 conferences and workshops. The festival took place in several emblematic venues in Namur, including the Delta, the Galerie du Beffroi, and the Institut Saint-Louis. A night tour also featured immersive installations.

The festival included three circuits: in Liège focused on MusicTech, in Mons on museum technology, and in Namur on the web and digital. Each circuit featured company presentations, networking sessions, and cultural visits. Participants came from 20 countries across Europe.

In an age of deepfakes, artificial intelligence, algorithmic manipulation, and fake news, our perceptions are being challenged. This vast and topical subject was a key focus, investigating the many facets of digital deception. The festival also explored the latest developments in AI and its transformation of the creative process.

Founded in Namur in 2011, the non-profit organization KIKK is dedicated to building bridges between the arts, sciences, culture, and technology. KIKK transforms and densifies space, standing at the intersection of technological innovation and creativity, refreshing the foundations of a reinvented economy.
