Inside Medito: Growing Shopify Stores Through Smart SEO and Design

London, August 13th, 2025

Medito Digital is a Shopify expert agency headquartered in the heart of London’s West End, on Wimpole Street. With a mission to elevate brands through innovative design, the agency has delivered over 230 successful Shopify deployments—ranging from streamlined storefronts to fully bespoke builds. Their reputation for combining creative flair with technical expertise has made them a trusted partner for brands seeking high-performing, beautifully crafted e-commerce solutions.

In this interview, we sit down with Olivier Lambret, Founder and CEO of Medito Digital, to explore his approach to helping brands grow in today’s fast-paced online marketplace. Speaking from his base in London, Olivier reflects on how design precision, adaptability, and emerging trends like AI-powered search are shaping the future of Shopify development—and how agencies can stay ahead by blending innovation with strategy.

To start off — where did your journey into digital commerce and performance marketing begin, and what led you to create Medito Digital?

My journey began back in 2015 while I was living in Australia. That’s when I founded what would eventually become Medito. At the time, we had just registered as an official Shopify agency and were taking our first steps into the world of e-commerce. I’d always had a strong interest in business, especially in the digital space, but starting Medito was the point where I truly immersed myself in e-commerce and performance marketing.

What does a typical day look like for you as Founder and CEO of Medito?

No two days are ever quite the same, but Monday to Thursday tend to be the busiest. I like to start early, usually by going through emails, planning the day ahead, and ensuring the team’s priorities are clear. My day is a mix of collaborating with and guiding the team, while also focusing on strategic tasks that drive the business forward. At the moment, we’re in a hiring phase, so a big part of my time is dedicated to onboarding, training, and refining internal processes. I always make time for a good workout at the end of the day, it helps me reset and start each new day with a clear mind.

How would you describe Medito’s mission and approach when it comes to helping Shopify brands stand out online?

At Medito, our mission is to elevate Shopify brands through innovative design and tailored solutions that truly reflect their identity. We take an honest, long-term approach, never chasing quick wins. This mindset has earned us the trust of our clients, who rely on our expertise and strategic thinking to help drive meaningful growth for their stores.

In your view, what are the most common mistakes Shopify store owners make when trying to gain visibility?

One of the most common mistakes we see is brands relying on agencies without having a clear understanding of what results to expect. Often, they end up spending months, or even a year, burning through budget with little to no return, simply because no one set the right expectations from the start. That’s where trust and transparency come in. At Medito, we’re always upfront with our clients, whether a solution is performing as expected or not, so we can adapt quickly and keep moving forward together.

How has the SEO strategy for Shopify changed over the past few years — and what’s still underrated?

While the core fundamentals of SEO have remained fairly consistent, the way search results are displayed has evolved significantly. Google’s algorithm updates, changes to how rich results are surfaced, and the growing focus on user experience have all influenced how we tailor our SEO services for Shopify. At Medito, we stay on top of these shifts and continually adapt our strategy to align with the latest best practices. One aspect that’s still underrated is structured data—many stores overlook it, yet it plays a key role in improving visibility through rich snippets and enhanced search listings.

With tools like ChatGPT now influencing how users explore and discover products, how do you think eCommerce SEO needs to adapt?

The way people search is evolving—it’s no longer just about keywords, but more about questions, context, and intent. For eCommerce brands, this means focusing on creating genuinely helpful, structured content that answers real customer queries. It’s about being part of the conversation early, not just ranking on page one. Shopify stores need to think beyond traditional product pages and optimise for how people talk, not just how they type.

What steps can brands take today to make their Shopify store more “ChatGPT-friendly” or better aligned with conversational search behavior?

Start by understanding the kinds of questions your customers are asking, then build content that answers those in a clear and structured way. Think FAQs, comparison guides, “best for” collections, and informative blog posts tied to actual buyer intent. Also, make sure your site structure is logical and easy to navigate, with clean metadata and schema markup, this helps AI tools understand and surface your content more accurately.

What role do technical SEO and performance optimization still play, even in an era dominated by AI-generated content?

A massive one. No matter how good your content is, if your site is slow, messy, or hard to crawl, it won’t get seen, or it’ll get skipped. Site speed, clean code, proper use of tags, and mobile responsiveness are still the foundation. Especially on Shopify, where performance can directly impact conversion rates, getting the technical side right makes everything else work better, from content to visibility to user experience.

How do you balance design and speed in a Shopify store — especially when trying to create immersive, brand-led experiences?

Great question—and the answer is actually quite straightforward: it all comes down to clean, optimised code. At Medito, we don’t believe there should be any compromise between strong design and fast performance. It’s about building a theme that’s lightweight from the ground up, where assets are loaded efficiently and visuals like images or videos are properly prepared and compressed. When done right, you can have an immersive, brand-led experience that still performs at top speed.

Can you walk us through a recent project where Medito helped a client dramatically improve visibility or sales? What worked?

One standout project was for a DTC brand where we implemented a cart freebie feature. It led to a +9.4% increase in conversion rate and a +6.5% lift in average order value, adding over €100,000 in revenue in just the first month. Small, well-executed features like this can make a big difference when done with the right timing and strategy.

We also recently helped another client migrate their POS system to Shopify. They were initially planning to go with another agency, but we stepped in and restructured the approach—saving them around £40,000 on the setup while delivering a smoother, more tailored solution.

We’re also beginning SEO and Google Ads management for a leading brand, and we’ll be publishing more of these case studies on our website soon.

How do you keep your team and your clients up to date with the ever-evolving digital landscape — especially with platforms like Shopify constantly evolving?

We work with most of our clients on a dynamic, ongoing basis through our on-demand Shopify support plans. This allows us to stay closely involved and keep both our team and clients updated as new features roll out or when we identify areas for improvement. We regularly suggest optimisations, share updates, and often set yearly goals together, then plan and execute them step by step. It’s a collaborative process that keeps everyone aligned and ahead of the curve.

If you had to recommend just three key areas of investment for a growing eCommerce brand in 2025, what would they be?

First, invest in high-quality visual and video content, it’s essential for standing out and building trust. Second, focus on partnerships and brand-aligned events that help create strong associations and expand your reach. Third, double down on retention through Klaviyo email and SMS marketing, and make sure you’re collecting and using your data effectively to personalise the experience and drive repeat sales.

What do you see as the next big shift in user behavior that eCommerce brands can’t afford to ignore?

One major shift we’re already seeing is how users are turning to ChatGPT for search, product discovery, and decision-making. What many brands may be overlooking is how quickly this behaviour is evolving, especially with Shopify’s recent integration, which now allows product rich snippets to appear directly within GPT replies. Very soon, customers will be shopping straight from conversations. That’s why we’ve started including ChatGPT optimisation as part of our SEO services, to help brands stay visible where the next generation of discovery is happening.

Outside of Medito, what inspires you — whether it’s people, routines, or passions that keep your curiosity sharp?

I’d say both people and routines play a big role in what inspires me. I’m lucky to be surrounded by individuals I’d call “achievers”, people building their own businesses and committing to routines that set them up for success. Personally, I’m very focused on creating a healthy lifestyle where good energy is central. Being around others who share that same mindset isn’t just inspiring, it’s a requirement for me. It keeps my curiosity sharp and my motivation high.

What kind of stories or trends catch your attention lately — business-related or not?

Anything related to personal development or business stories always catches my attention. I love hearing about people’s journeys, how they’ve grown, what they’ve built, the challenges they’ve faced. Whether it’s a founder’s story or someone working on bettering themselves, those kinds of narratives really resonate with me. They’re also the kind of conversations I can go on for hours about with friends.

Finally, can you share a fun fact about yourself that’s not on your LinkedIn profile?

I’m a bit OCD when it comes to processes and optimisation (my team knows everything has a system)… but I’ll plan a holiday just two days before flying.
