ReadWrite was founded on April 20, 2003, by Richard MacManus, as ReadWriteWeb; it took its current name in 2012. ReadWrite is now one of the most widely read and respected tech news sites in the world.

Owen Thomas Editor-in-Chief Owen has led a 17-year career devoted to crafting narratives and telling stories in ways that are uniquely suited to the online world, as well as managing some of the Web’s best editorial teams. He has written, edited and contributed for a number of publications. Prior to joining ReadWrite, he was West Coast editor of Business Insider and founding executive editor of the Daily Dot. He has held editorial leadership roles at VentureBeat, NBC Universal and Gawker Media, where he notoriously transformed Valleywag into the Silicon Valley’s authority on tech gossip. He also spent several years at Time, Inc. and Business 2.0.

Adriana Lee Staff Writer Prior to ReadWrite, Adriana was the lifestyle editor at TechnoBuffalo and PhoneDog. She has covered consumer technology, digital culture, retail, the performing arts, food, fashion, pop culture and other topics, and her work has appeared in Time magazine, the Philadelphia Inquirer and various trade and lifestyle publications. When she’s not working, she indulges her two primary obsessions — “food hacking” and tricking out her bicycle.

Jolie O’Dell Special Projects Editor In 2015, Jolie O’Dell rejoined ReadWrite as a special projects editor. Prior to her return, she wrote for Mashable and served as VentureBeat’s managing editor. In the past, O’Dell has worked on newspapers, on magazines, for book publishers, for serial entrepreneurs, on startup teams, at advertising and marketing agencies, and for enterprise blogs and websites. O’Dell has a B.A. in Media Studies from Shenandoah University and has studied computer science and astrophysics.
