React Amsterdam brought together Front-end and Full-stack developers from all over the world, celebrating this year its fourth edition, which ran from the 10th to the 14th of April, gathering 23 internationally recognized speakers. More than 1500 attended a top location, the beautiful Kromhouthal at IJ in North Amsterdam.

React Amsterdam stands out for being not just another conference, but also a social and cultural environment with an extra addition to a regular conference experience, for instance, its pre- and post-event training sessions and workshops. Attendees also found an opportunity for networking and trying demos.

The event started on April 10th with workshops from instructors Kent C.Dodds, full-stack developer and professional trainer, talking about Advanced React Patterns and Testing React applications. Andrey Okonetchnikov talked about component-driven design systems. Other workshops addressed testing React Native and more attendees said to be very satisfied with the workshops preceding the main event.

The conference day arrived and the two-track conference began with talks simultaneously taking place at the venue, like the one from developer Parashuram N, a React Native core member at Facebook,, who talked about the internals of React Native.

The conference continued on each of the tracks with interesting talks from experts at companies such as Google, DAZN, Apollo among many others. Attendees interested in a more general track, had the chance to hear from developers talking about how GraphQL can help reduce the complexity of writing data fetching, learn which component pattern can make your codebase better or how WebGL lets you unlock the power of your GPU to paint almost anything you can dream of.

Meanwhile, developers on the React Native track, could get a better insight of adverse effects commonly used patterns, have on the speed of your app and how to avoid using them, migrating their web and mobile application to React and React-Native, accessibility issues on react native apps, its rules, and standards your app falls into, and many other interesting issues on React Native.

After the main conference program, participants enjoyed an amazing after party with the involvement of some Amsterdam Dance Event crew and other cultural foundations. A one of a kind party to be remembered.

In the last day of the event, conference goers explored the beautiful city of Amsterdam. The organization prepared a special walk and boat tours free for conferences attendees. Mark Dalgleish, speaker at the event, claimed to be the prettiest city he has ever seen, and thanked the organizers for making it happened.
