Developers gathered for four days in Chester for CodeMobile 2019.
Dozens of developers, from students to experts, gathered for four days in the beautiful city of Chester for this year’s CodeMobile Developer Conference to learn and discuss iOS and Android development, Swift, Java, Kotlin, as well as Mobile UX, frameworks and cross-platform development. The event had two tracks, one focused on iOS development and the other on Android.
More than 20 experts including software architects, android engineers and public speakers participated in the event with talks ranging from apps development, product management to the ethics behind apps in social networks.
Some talks addressed new approaches to animation on Android, others gave insight into new platforms such as ‘flutter & firebase’ to build apps in record time using the same code for both iOS and Android systems. In another talk, Jaime Lopez Jr, had the audience built an age recognition app using IBM Watson APIs, while Buşra Deniz introduced the newly announced ML Kit & TensorFlow Lite to pave the way for those who want to dive into machine learning.
On the other hand, with the ever-increasing attention placed to privacy issues regarding the social networks, the conference included two talks addressing the topic of ethical and moral responsibility of developers. Xavier Gouchet the Lead Android Engineer at Workwell stresses that “developers need to know about the consequences of what they build, and help shape the way apps will be built tomorrow.”
In addition, this year the CodeMobile conference included a series of workshops in which participants could learn, for example, how to get started with Vapor, the popular Server-side Swift framework, add authentication to your REST APIs or learn how to use Leaf to build front-end applications.
The attendees regarded the event as a great opportunity for networking, and to bring people together, share practices, and get advice for improving their apps with other like-minded developers.
