Major Tom appoints new CEO and President

As part of its expansion and development, United States and Canada-based digital agency Major Tom, recently appointed a new CEO and a new President.

Lyn Bryan will be officially taking over as the agency’s new Chief Executive Officer, which is an evolution of her previous role as Managing Partner. She has been working across the agency in both its current and previous incarnation since 2005.

Working with a diverse roster of talented professionals and big brand businesses and responsible for all aspects of the business, Bryan facilitates Major Tom’s journey towards its big-picture goals. In one of her first big projects as CEO, she is currently integrating the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) across the agency.

“After more than a decade of working at all levels within the organization, I have seen our group grow from five to eighty-six and counting. The merge and rebrand to Major Tom was a natural step and I’m incredibly proud of what we have accomplished,” Major Tom’s CEO, Lyn Bryan, said.

Alongside a new CEO, Miles Sellyn has also been named as Major Tom’s President. His previous role was Partner and VP of Strategy and Creative. At 28 years old, and with an English Language and Literature degree from the University of British Columbia, he is a visionary who is passionate about Major Tom’s culture.

Miles is one of the brightest talents on the agency landscape and was also one of the driving forces behind the agency’s recent merger of 6S Marketing and Drive Digital and their rebrand to “Major Tom.” In his new position Miles will focus on developing and executing innovative digital strategies.

“It’s never been easier to get your message out to the world, but the true challenge is ensuring that message resonates with the right people,” said Miles Sellyn, after being named President at Major Tom. “Our focus is to help our partners cut through the noise to find innovative solutions across our various service areas and drive impactful results.”

Marrying top-level strategic consultancy and impeccable execution across the full spectrum of marketing services, Major Tom boasts an enviable roster of international clients that includes NYU, MPAA, Cirque du Soleil, NBC, Orkin, KPMG, and Bulletproof.

The organization was started by Founding Partners Chris Breikss and John Blown who will continue to influence the development of the agency moving forward, in their roles as Founding Partners. To that end, Breikss has relocated to Major Tom’s Toronto office as of November 2018 to help support the agency’s rapid expansion across all sectors. Breikss had previously opened Major Tom’s Office in New York City and participated in the Canadian Technology Accelerator NYC while living there from 2014-2016.

“We opened the Toronto office in 2011 and have grown steadily to 18 full-time staff,” said Chris Breikss prior to his move. “Our business is growing rapidly in the East and we felt that having a founder relocate there would help bridge culture and vision across the organization.”

John Blown continues to lead and mentor the leadership team as a Founding Partner and is heading up initiatives related to finance, M&A and office space. John also leads their philanthropic and charity related initiatives and is based in our Vancouver office.

The changes to the senior leadership team follow off of the back of the significant expansion Major Tom has experienced since the merge. Major Tom formed after a merger between award-winning agencies 6S Marketing and Drive Digital earlier this year and relocated their Vancouver team to a fully renovated `10,000+ sq. ft. studio in Vancouver’s historic Gastown district.
