History should never be forgotten and neither our rights. As society continues to evolve and make progress, it’s always important to remember those who trace the path for others to live in better conditions.
In 1971, the Congress of the United States designated August 26 as the Women’s Equality Day, to commemorate the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. As this was the culmination of a massive civil rights movement that formally began in 1848, this date commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment but also calls attention to keep fighting for equality in other countries and in many aspects which are still in fault.
We love seeing people celebrating such special dates but mostly agencies, who always show their support through social media. Check them out and discover great campaigns, best-practices and ways to keep fighting for Women Equality.
Only 4% of all sports coverage features female athletes – @usopen wants to change that. In honor of #WomensEqualityDay, @usopen encourages fans to celebrate by using #WomenWorthWatching to share stories & photos of the female athletes who inspire them: https://t.co/TWM2R0eAqP
