London Tech Week, the largest and most influential tech event in Europe, made an official come back last week to reunite the tech ecosystem. The week-long event offered more than 700 sessions and welcomed over 20,000 business leaders, industry legends, policymakers and technology experts.
This year, the agenda supported the economic recovery in a sustainable, inclusive and resilient manner and addressed challenges, from bridging the digital divide to battling the Covid-19 pandemic. The mission was to build a better and more inclusive digital world by gathering the world’s most inspirational global leaders.
“Our mission at London Tech Week is to equip and inspire people to design, build and run a better, more inclusive, digital world,” said Carolyn Dawson, President and Managing Director, Informa Tech, one of the organizers of the event. “We truly believe that tech holds the power to change the world.”
Now in its eighth year, London Tech Week powers 365 days of conversation that connects international tech communities and leaders to address how tech can have a profoundly positive impact on people and the planet. It culminated with last week’s festival with complementary physical and virtual moments.
The summit explored six themes, enabling networking, connections and amplifying the speed, resilience, and innovation of the tech sector. The “leaders and innovation” theme focused on the resilience and brilliance of the tech sector revolution, while the “investment and start up” theme explored funding and investment in tech.
The third theme was “knowledge and skills” and focused on how to upskill opportunities amid a changing work environment, while the “global impact” theme addressed positive impact technology. Finally, “diversity and inclusion” and “digital enterprise” were the other two themes of the summit.
“Continued innovation, change and progress in tech is critical to help the world in these uncertain times and London Tech Week is a unique platform where businesses and business leaders can pledge responsibly, share insight, forge connections and drive the important transformation of the tech sector,” said Dawson.
