YORD is an award-winning global creative studio led by a world-class XR design and development team: 3D projects, Apple Vision Pro development, Visualization, Virtual Spaces, and Metaverse solutions. Its team specializes in complex interactive projects, builds high-end immersive experiences, and develops its products with an innovative approach.
YORD was founded by two XR enthusiasts, Adam Rajnoha and David Mařák. In an interview with TIA, he described his career path and explained what inspired him to be an entrepreneur. He also listed the elements brands should prioritize when creating digital ecosystems that connect with audiences and gave advice to entrepreneurs.
I hail from a family deeply rooted in entrepreneurship, significantly shaping my early interests and career path. My grandfather ran the first photo service in our town, and my father specialized in real estate development projects. This entrepreneurial environment instilled in me a desire to create and innovate from a young age.
In third grade, I embarked on my first venture with friends, selling computer games. This experience introduced me to product distribution and ignited my passion for business. Beyond entrepreneurship, I have always been fascinated by flora and fauna, leading me to breed chameleons. While not profitable, this endeavor taught me valuable lessons about business and trade.
My journey took a pivotal turn when I had the opportunity to study and work in various companies, eventually leading me to the USA. Visiting Silicon Valley was a transformative experience that rekindled my interest in technology. Working as a Business Development Manager in San Francisco, New York, and Vienna further motivated me to return to my entrepreneurial roots and establish Studio YORD.
Working with industry giants like Apple, Adidas, Niantic, and Deloitte, I have gained the key insight that every company’s success ultimately depends on its people. Identifying and empowering innovators within the organization drives progress and significantly impacts.
My inspiration to venture into entrepreneurship, particularly in immersive reality, began during a pivotal trip to the USA, where I visited Silicon Valley. The energy and innovative spirit there were electrifying. I saw firsthand how deeply people were engaged in innovation and programming, which rekindled my passion for technology.
Working as a Business Development Manager in San Francisco, New York, and Vienna only fueled this passion further. These experiences motivated me to return to entrepreneurship and establish Studio YORD. I firmly believe that virtual and augmented reality have the potential to change the world, and that’s why I decided to invest in these transformative technologies. The spirit of Silicon Valley and my international work experience inspired me to dive into the world of immersive reality and pursue my vision with YORD.
Every day in a startup environment is vibrant and dynamic, and no two days are the same. As the CEO and Head of Sales in a VR and AR startup, my role involves a wide range of responsibilities, making each day both challenging and rewarding.
In my role as CEO, my primary focus is on the strategic vision and planning for the company. This involves constantly monitoring the big picture to ensure our vision and strategy align with our goals. I spend significant time on market research, exploring new opportunities, and planning for long-term growth. Leading a young and enthusiastic team is incredibly inspiring but also demanding. I work hard to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and transparency, ensuring everyone is motivated and aligned with our mission. Keeping a close eye on product development is essential, and I regularly review progress, provide feedback, and ensure our offerings are cutting-edge and meet market demands.
As Head of Sales, I focus on client engagement and meeting their needs. I spend a lot of time conducting demos, negotiating deals, and ensuring our solutions deliver real value to our clients. Developing and refining our sales strategies to maximize growth and market penetration is a key part of my role. I analyze performance metrics, adapt our tactics, and ensure our approach is effective and agile. Mentoring and training the sales team is my priority, as I work closely with them to improve their skills, share best practices, and celebrate their successes.
Balancing these dual roles comes with its share of challenges. Managing limited resources while pushing for innovation and growth is a constant struggle, and staying ahead of the rapid technological changes in the VR & AR industry requires continuous learning and adaptation. Differentiating our solutions in a competitive market demands creativity and persistence.
Despite these challenges, the daily highlights make it all worthwhile. It is incredibly fulfilling to see our innovative ideas come to life and have a positive impact on the market. Positive feedback from clients and witnessing the transformation our solutions bring to their businesses are major highlights. Building and leading a passionate team, celebrating their successes, and fostering a supportive and motivating environment is immensely rewarding.

Creating digital ecosystems that connect with audiences requires brands to prioritize an exceptional user experience, high-quality content, and personalized interactions. Ensuring the ecosystem is user-friendly and intuitive, featuring high-resolution visuals and compelling storytelling that resonates emotionally with users is crucial. Personalization plays a key role, using data to tailor content and adapt environments to individual preferences. Seamless integration across devices and platforms and robust security measures to protect user data build trust and engagement. Fostering a sense of community through social features and maintaining brand consistency ensures a unified, authentic experience. Brands must also leverage real-time analytics and user feedback to continually refine and innovate, staying ahead of technological advancements and trends. By focusing on these elements, brands can create immersive, scalable, and flexible digital ecosystems that captivate and retain their audiences.

Our representatives in each country understand the local market and regulatory environment, ensuring compliance and relevance. By promoting cross-office collaboration and maintaining a cohesive culture, we remain agile and innovative, effectively adapting to different markets and seizing global opportunities in the VR & AR industry.
We are working on some amazing projects involving the latest gadgets. One of the most exciting opportunities is using immersive technologies to digitally transform entire cities.
I see virtual reality playing a transformative role in architecture and urban design. VR enables immersive 3D visualization, allowing stakeholders to experience and understand spaces before they are built, leading to better-informed decisions. It also facilitates real-time, global collaboration among architects, designers, and engineers, streamlining the design process and reducing project timelines.
In urban planning, VR simulations can model traffic flow, pedestrian movement, and environmental impacts, helping planners create efficient, sustainable, and resilient cities. It engages the public by allowing virtual exploration of proposed developments, ensuring designs meet community needs through valuable feedback. Additionally, VR is a powerful training tool for architects and construction workers, offering realistic scenarios for skill development.
Also, VR enhances marketing by letting potential buyers experience properties before construction, boosting sales and satisfaction.
The AR and VR segment is evolving at a remarkable pace. New technologies, applications, and devices are constantly emerging, significantly improving consumer accessibility. This rapid development is driven by advances in computing power, user interface design, and a growing ecosystem of developers and content creators.
Looking to the future, the potential of AR and VR technologies is immense. We can expect even greater integration into everyday life across various industries. In healthcare, these technologies promise to revolutionize patient care and medical training, with examples like VR training programs such as Osso VR and AR applications for surgical assistance. Education is another area where AR and VR can create immersive, interactive learning experiences, with platforms like Google Expeditions for virtual field trips and AR for interactive lessons. With AR and VR aiding in product development and process optimization, industrial design and manufacturing will also benefit, exemplified by companies like Ford using VR for vehicle design and AR for assembly line efficiency.
Always try to understand the technology first. Deep knowledge of immersive reality will enable you to innovate effectively and create impactful solutions. Stay curious, keep learning, and be open to collaboration.
I’ve learned multiple times that you will ultimately face 80% negative feedback and nos rather than yeses. Persistence and resilience are crucial to overcoming these challenges and finding success.
I have a small daughter, so I dedicate any free time to her. Before this, I was involved in endurance sports like running and triathlon, which taught me the importance of perseverance and resilience. These lessons influence my work by reminding me to keep pushing forward, no matter the challenges.
A fun fact that not many people know about me is that I have a passion for writing fantasy stories and would love to be a fantasy writer or scenarist someday.
